James 1:17

What a joy and so exciting to see the answer for our prayer as we see funds come in that are moving us toward this goal. I do not believe in chance or coincidence, rather I believe in the sovereign will of God. My ever increasing faith in God comes from experiencing Him both in my life and in answered prayer. We have many times seen the Lord open and close doors for us in response to seeking His will in our direction. And we are seeing it once again in the response of those with open hands and open hearts.

We have experienced how God has used teaching water purification methods and providing beans and rice has opened doors to new relationships. These relationships have opened the door to sharing the reason why we do this. It has also resulted in the starting of several home Bible studies. By being open to share our lives and being bold in sharing our faith; because of this, we have been given the great joy of being used by our Lord. That action has resulted in people surrendering their lives and wills to Him and allowing us to share our faith not only in words but in deeds.

James said it clearly when discussing the poor;

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him?

If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit?

Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.

James 2:14-17

Our faith presents itself in action.  I can say I have faith that a chair will hold me; but that faith is only true faith when acted upon – I sit in that chair.  This vision of producing employment is putting our faith into action.

The result of people giving for this need will not only be seeds for farmers to make a better living; that is only one part of the results.  Think about it.  It provides employment for the people who clear the land for this to be built on, the welders that construct the cover and those who build the base and put in the trenches for the piping. And those people, they inevitably will ask the question of what are we growing and why.  An open door!

I am sure you have heard this before, if not from me, from others, that when you support our efforts that you become co-workers in that effort.  This is not just words.  I truly believe that God not only blesses those who support His workers, but that they receive the reward in heaven of being a missionary.  The truth always comes back to the fact that Natalie and I could not do any of this without you.

I want to most sincerely thank those who have given to this effort; some of you already support us and have chosen to give beyond that support.  Every month as support comes in we are humbly reminded of the fact that we only represent a part of a bigger team working towards one goal and that is sharing Christ with the world.

We also greatly need your prayers.  Things are changing here in Nicaragua.  The government is not as open to missionary work as they were before last year’s events and we do not know what the future holds.  The boldness of the enemy to stand against the kingdom is growing, as I am sure you have seen in your part of the world.

Please pray about coming alongside of us in this endeavor.  We are hoping to take advantage of the current rainy season.  To give to this project, and/or share on your social network (i.e., Facebook, Twitter, etc.) use this link: Water for Seeds of Hope  There is also an explanation as to what all the funds are being used for at this link location.
